An Amusing Summer Visit

Frankie was a fat little tourist I created as the students were working on some fun cartoons.
What do ya think? Now don't go getting all offended. No one's poking fun at anyone! Actually he is my response to something we had in the class and is not for sale but an example of some practice for the students to see one way to use markers. Some times they present a challenge for little ones. Loosening up is a good way to keep it lighthearted.
Having fun!

Here are some examples of some of our students reaction to the diverse subjects for them to make artwork. Is it not wonderful to enjoy the various ways each person sees and how we can guide them in their pursuit to become artist.
This is one of my favorite things about teaching art. One student and their work is as different as the next and of course our response to them is critical. We must, with all our "worldly experience," not stifle them as they are growing. So many times we can be limited in our willingness to understand them, however we must try. When we do, we can only gain more appreciation of them and ourselves.
